Add a sentence for each word (optional)
Practice reads the word, your sentence, then the word again, just like a spelling test. Keep sentences short and leave out names and personal details.
Up to three spelling patterns, separated by commas. Leave blank to let the child or a grown-up write them.
Each sheet includes a QR link back to these words. Word search supports up to 20 words with 2–14 letters.

Getting the most from a word search
A word search is good for noticing letter order, especially in words with vowel teams or double letters. It does not ask the child to recall a spelling, so pair it with a few minutes of hear-and-spell practice.
Words run left to right, top to bottom, or diagonally down and to the right, so young children are not searching backwards.
Questions grown-ups ask
- Why only 20 words?
- More words make the grid too dense for younger children to search comfortably, and long words limit where others can fit.
- What happens to apostrophes and accents?
- The grid uses plain A–Z letters, so don’t is hidden as DONT and café as CAFE. The word bank shows the original spelling.
- Is the same grid made every time?
- Yes. The same list always makes the same grid, so a teacher and a family can print matching copies.
